you find the right spot in your yard:

Always pick a spot where you are going
to enjoy your pond the most, not
the browsers who drive by or your neighbor across the
street. Have the waterfall facing your house. For example:
In front of a window where you can enjoy it from inside
too.

Just because you do not have a hill
in your yard, does not mean you cannot have a pond. When
digging out the pond you can mound dirt up and build a
waterfall into the dirt. Then,
you landscape it with rocks and grasses and other types
of shrubs and perennials to make a "natural"
effect.

When you are measuring out how big
you want your pond, remember, that after installed most
people wish they went bigger. Do not be afraid to spend the
extra money because in the end it will be well worth
it.

If you are going to spend the money
on a pond, you might as well enjoy it at night when you
are home the most. Install landscape lighting to
highlight the pond, waterfall, and the area around it.
